Dr. Eveline Onkels grew up in Beirut, Lebanon. She attended a French, Catholic school there and it is there that she became fluent in Lebanese, French and English. During the civil war in Lebanon in the mid-70’s she and her family immigrated first to England for a year and then to the United States.

After graduating high school at an accelerated rate she entered college at the age of 16. Eventually she became a registered respiratory therapist and worked at City of Hope Hospital for many years. It was always one of Dr. Onkels passions to become a doctor, especially an OB-GYN. However, with the influence and advice of a brother who was a chiropractic student at the time and a brother-in-law who was a chiropractor in private practice, she decided to enter Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles to also become a chiropractor. “So many people spend their health gaining wealth, and then have to spend their wealth to regain their health,” states Dr. Onkels. “There is no better way to preserve your health than through safe, effective chiropractic care.”

Cleveland Chiropractic College was an “amazing experience” where Dr. Onkels studied all facets of medicine, from anatomy to clinical diagnosis to radiology. After completing the 4400 hours of class time she entered her clinical internship and it was here on the last day of clinical rounds that she met her husband, Michael, who was a fellow intern. Even though they had spent everyday of the previous 4 years together in the same classroom they finally noticed each other and it wasn’t long after that they were married.

Graduating from CCC-LA in 2002 armed with a B.S. in Human Biology and her Doctor of Chiropractic degree she went to work for a well-respected chiropractic office where she specialized in injury rehabilitation and neuro-muscular re-education. She continued to practice there until 2006 at which time Dr. Onkels and her husband combined their expertise and opened Onkels Chiropractic, located in the heart of beautiful Burbank. Her office is a perfect blend of excellent preventative and corrective health care with a lot of very personal attention. She spends more time with her patients and does so because “it offers the patient the best opportunity to experience relief”.

Dr. Onkels resides in Glendale with her husband and their two daughters, Victoria and Natalie. In her limited free time she loves to cook, catch up on medical literature as well as read inspirational, non-fictional stories, watch CSI-type shows. She states that, “Dr. G, Medical Examiner, is one of my favorite shows on television. She’s my alter-ego.”
