Spinal Stenosis
Spinal stenosis is a narrowing of the spaces within the spine that can put pressure on the spinal cord or nerves. It most often affects the lower back and neck of adults over 50, and it can cause pain, cramping, numbness, or weakness, especially when standing or walking for long periods.
Many patients with stenosis benefit from conservative care before considering injections or surgery. Our approach may include gentle flexion-distraction techniques, therapeutic exercise, and movement coaching designed to improve comfort and walking tolerance. Clinical trials in this area are limited but suggest that manual therapy combined with exercise can be a reasonable option for some patients.
We tailor each plan to your age, health, and goals, using low-force methods when appropriate. If imaging or your symptoms point to a need for medical or surgical consultation, we will help you take that step with confidence.
