Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD)

Symphysis pubis dysfunction, sometimes called pelvic girdle pain, involves discomfort at the front of the pelvis where the two pubic bones meet. It is common in pregnancy, when hormones increase ligament flexibility, and it can make walking, climbing stairs, or rolling over in bed painful.

At Onkels Chiropractic, we use gentle, pregnancy-safe techniques to support pelvic balance, along with practical advice on movement, sleep positioning, and supportive strategies. Research on pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain shows that individualized care, including manual therapy and exercise, can help relieve symptoms (Pennick & Liddle, 2013).

Our goal is to help you stay comfortable and active, and we will work with your obstetric provider as needed.
