Uterine Constraint
Uterine constraint refers to limited space or restricted movement of the uterus during pregnancy, which some practitioners believe can be associated with pelvic tension and with the baby's positioning. For expectant mothers, this can show up as pelvic pressure, hip discomfort, or low back pain.
At Onkels Chiropractic, we use gentle techniques, such as the Webster technique, intended to support pelvic alignment and relieve tension in the surrounding muscles and ligaments. Research on these approaches is limited, and we are careful not to promise specific outcomes such as changes in fetal position. What we can offer is a comfortable, low-force approach aimed at easing pelvic strain and supporting a more comfortable pregnancy.
We encourage every patient to stay in close contact with her obstetrician or midwife, and we are glad to coordinate care when it is helpful.
