Bulging Discs
Between each vertebra sits a cushion-like disc that absorbs shock and allows movement. A bulging disc occurs when the outer wall of the disc weakens and the disc pushes outward, sometimes irritating nearby nerves. Many people have disc bulges without any symptoms, but for others they cause back or neck pain and radiating discomfort.
At Onkels Chiropractic, we use gentle, controlled techniques, including flexion-distraction, designed to reduce pressure on the affected area and improve mobility. We pair this with core stabilization and movement guidance to support long-term spine health. Most disc-related pain improves with conservative care over time.
We will explain what your exam and any imaging show, what to expect during recovery, and which activities to adjust. If your symptoms involve progressive weakness or changes in bowel or bladder function, we will direct you to emergency medical care immediately.
