Headaches

There are over 150 different types of headaches such as cluster, migraine, hypertensive, and tension headaches. Tension is by far the most common type of headache and is due to the muscle tension in the neck. Chiropractic is fantastic for this issue and adjustments help to reduce the tension thereby providing pain relief. Typically tension headaches improve very quickly after chiropractic visits and regular treatment can help prevent them from re-occurring.

As chiropractors we are trained to evaluate and treat musculoskeletal disorders, including neck and shoulder tension and spinal misalignment, which can contribute to headaches. During a chiropractic evaluation, we will assess the alignment and movement of the spine, as well as the neck and shoulder muscles, to determine the underlying causes of the headaches.

Chiropractic treatment for headaches typically involves a combination of manual therapy techniques, such as spinal manipulation, soft tissue therapy, and exercise prescription. The goal of treatment is to address the underlying causes of the headaches, such as tension or spinal misalignment, and to improve the function of the affected areas.

Research studies have suggested that chiropractic care can be effective in reducing the frequency and intensity of headaches, and may be particularly effective for tension headaches and migraines.
